This is a walk through of the Otto/Marks Home (often known
as the Fountain House). Patric is a world famous Sitar player
and teacher (his bio can be found on the "Art and Music" page).
Margaret is the former Director of the Diabetes Section in
Endocrinology at the former Cook County Hospital.
Their home is a Two Flat that Margaret's Grandfather had built
around 1920. Margaret had created a large addition a few
steps down (Living Room) from the former dining room.
The former Living room had been converted into a Library.
The dentil style wood detail in the original fireplace mantel
has been mimicked throughout the home in the crown moldings
and the columns dividing the two main rooms. Margaret loves
to create atmosphere with cast light and shadow and often
jokes that she creates so much atmosphere that she can't read.
There are beautiful views, enjoyed year round, of the garden
and Koi pond out back, from both the Living Room and the Den.
This home is truly a hidden gem here in Berwyn.
